Hi anyone thinking of spending some time on gili air you just have to stay at Kai’s Beach House its just amazing!! It’s right on the beach with the most amazing sunsets you wont see anywhere else on the island. The house its self is totally cool with everything you need and more, it even has its own pool. We just loved it.

We’ve been travelling to Asia for many many years and have now discovered this little diamond on Gili Air. We fell in love with this home the second we stepped into it. It has been a fantastically relaxing, tranquil place to spend the last few days of our holiday. The staff have all done a terrific job in looking after us. We will be extremely sad to say farewell to Kai’s Beach House, but take back to Australia many wonderful memories. Life truely is a beach house on a tropical oasis.

We truely think it’s the best place we’ve ever stayed , not just in the Gilis , but all over Asia!

We have loved every moment at Kai’s Beach House. It is truely a little piece of paradise and we never want to leave!

The staff have been wonderful and one of our favourite nights here was eating the delicious dinner they prepared.

From waking up to the sound of the ocean to lazing away the days in one of the many tranquil spots around the house, great memories have been made.

We can’t wait to return.

Fabulous Beach house without a doubt the best place to stay in gill air. Each room was beautifully decorated and there were so many spaces in this gorgeous hippie chic beach house to lounge. Well equipped kitchen meant we could cook fabulous fish dinners and make cocktails to take on to the beach for sunset. Fluffy White towels and good quality cotton sheets at bed time meant luxurious comfort after a day of sunbathing and snorkelling. We loved it so much we decided to stay longer. Will definitely be returning.

We just came back from Kai’s beach house where my husband myself and our 2 1/2 y.o. spent 5 amazing days. At first we thought it would have been probably too much – but in the end we realized it was just perfect and we would have regretted having to leave earlier. The house is beautiful, very chic and with a lot of character. Very comfortable with plenty of relaxing areas (loungers on the first floors with amazing views; hammocks near the beach area; loungers in the garden).

There’s a huge living room where our son was roaming around having a lot of fun playing with us and with the toys that we brought for him. We loved being far away from the rest. It was the perfect opportunity to switch off completely from the rest of the world. However, the centre and the harbour are only a short bike ride away – although at night that can be tricky due to the fact that bikes have no lights.

What we did, was to enjoy Fella’s cooking skills for dinner (highly recommended her amazing stir fry with tempe sauce!!) or do a short walk on the beach and visit the nearby Island View or MataHari restaurant, where they serve decent food. Fella also babysat our little boy so we could dive on 2 consecutive days.

Beds were beautiful and very comfortable. It was amazing to sleep with windows open and hear the breeze of the sea. Highly recommended.

We arrived at Kai’s beach house by horse driven cart – the view that greeted us was amazing – a beautiful house right on the beach in front of a lagoon – how much better can it get?

Su, the gardner took our bags to our rooms – all 3 are different; furnished with traditional beds with crisp white sheets, large en suite bathrooms open to the sky and from the Red and Blue rooms, views to die for form the huge veranda upstairs, another perfect spot for a sun downer.

Our friends had the Garden room which is like a little house, very private with its’ own veranda overlooking the garden.

We loved the plunge pool, perfect for relaxing in. Yanti, the cook did a great breakfast and the staff were so helpful, great with the children, we felt very looked after.

Nothing was too much trouble – Su brought lounging cushions down to the beach so that we could relax and watch the spectacular sunset – people come especially to this side of the Island to watch the sun go down as it’s the best side to see it from.

At night the house and gardens are beautifully lit and Saiful the security guard is on hand at night in case anyone needs anything.

We can’t wait to go back…

I stayed at Kai’s Beach House with 3 friends and 2 teenagers. It was only a 3 days stay, unfortunately. We all loved the house on the beach and being on the quiet side of the island is not a problem. We hired bicycles and could get to all of the restaurants and bars within 5 minutes or so.

The house is immacutaly clean and the design is wonderful. Every morning we had a breakfast of our choice cooked and served to us in the open air stye dining area. The very attentive e staff will happily go shopping for any supplies you may need. I hope I get a chance to go back for a second visit and would not hesitate in recommending friends and family to take a leisurely holiday there.

We had an amazing time at Kai’s Beach House — absolutely loved it! First, it is perfectly located on the quiet side of the hip, yet tranquil island of Gili air. Arriving is so picturesque!! There are no cars or motorbikes on the island so after getting off the boat, we got horse cart to Kai’s. it felt like we were going back in time, living the way islanders did a hundred years ago. Then we arrived at the house — super cute and totally funky. There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with its own outdoor bathroom. Taking a shower under palm trees is a fantastic experience! In back of the house, there is a circular dipping swim pool–great for kids or sipping on a cocktail. Behind the pool there its another little guest house with its own bathroom–equally cute and funky. We just loved the decor.

The staff was super helpful, cooking and otherwise looking after us. They house was clean and well taken care of. The staff helped us set up a really nice sunset dinner on the beach (amazing view!!) and cooked tasty Indonesian fare. There was a little beach bar 50 feet away so we could always swim or walk over if we needed anything, otherwise the staff would get it for us.

We rented bicycles which made it easy to get around the island and check out the restaurants and shopping on the other side of the island. (There is an adorable new little store — wish I could remember the name). Snorkeling is a must.

All in all, we completely adored this place. It exceeded our expectation in in every way and truly made for a dream vacation.

We stayed there during the middle of September 2012 and loved it. The fact that we’d read about the type of accommodation before arriving meant that our expectations were realistic.

No it’s not a 5 * plush hotel, it’s a genuine experience of living on the beautiful island that is Gili air and for that we were very grateful, hotels are much the same around the World but there is definitely only 1 Kai’s Beach House and for that we’re grateful.

The staff were excellent considering that English is not their mother tongue. Let’s just say that I’m glad they spoke some English as our Indonesian is non existent!!

If you want a place to just relax and enjoy being out of the rat race then Kai’s is the place, the atmosphere is fabulous, location amazing and staff simply excellent.

We will be returning again soon.

We booked this for a bit of relaxation after climbing Rinjani. We are a group 5 adults and this place was just perfect! We were worried at first that Gili air would be too quiet, however this was not the case, it was just perfect for a laid back island getaway.

There are enough communal and secluded seating and relaxing areas to get together or relax in privacy. The other concern we had when booking was the lack of air con in the bedrooms. However, this was not a problem at all as the room temperature was fine at night with the fan, and we didn’t notice any Mosquitos. The house was beautiful and really clean. Fella was an amazing cook, she cooked an absolute feast for us. It was the best food we enjoyed on the island… I wish we had her cooking every night! Fella and andy were really helpful too.

Fella took our washing to be cleaned and bought beer (and even put it all on the fridge for us!) Andy helped us navigate the island on our first day and changed our boat arrangements for us. On request, Andy bought us fireworks and a cake from Lombok (we celebrated our anniversary there) it was the perfect balance between having somebody to help us and having privacy. They would both provide whatever support or information that we needed.

The beach outside the house is beautiful, although its a bit coralline so we needed flip-flops on parts. The sun beds are super comfy, however… There are only 4 and the house sleeps 6. Over all, it was awesome and we can’t wait to go back!!

We found your beautiful home without any problem and met the lovely Fella at about lunch time on Sunday.

Of all the places I have stayed in around the world, I’ve never walked in and thought ‘this is completely and utterly perfect’. Your taste is incredible. As we walked around, our children both said ‘please can we stay here forever’. I think they love it too….

Both Andy and Fella were super friendly and helpful. What great people you have to look after the Beach House.

We slightly arranged out whole holiday around the 2 nights here and it was very well worth it. We will definitely be back (Joshua and Cora’s parting words were ‘if we can’t stay here forever, can we come here every holiday’….)

The house is just so charming and the setting is just so beautiful that nothing else matters… little discomforts like electricity going on and off, dark roads or other little things are just irrelevant when you are in such a serene and beautiful place. Of course is not a vacation for everyone…if you need AC and hate little bugs, are afraid of the dark and need 24hrs room service this is probably not the place you are looking for. This said Maria is very well organize and also thanks to her staff is very helpful and can help you more or less with anything. Definitely recommended.

This is an oasis, a perfect place to wind down and get back to your status.

Kais Beach House is beautifyl and Fella, Andy and Budi made it a perfect holiday.

Whats an amazing vacation, we could not have asked for more. Fella, Andy and Budi: you were awsome and helped make this a trip we will never forget. From snorkelling to eating, to lounging, the island has it all! We will definately be back and bring our friendas along!
