We had an amazing time at Kai’s Beach House — absolutely loved it! First, it is perfectly located on the quiet side of the hip, yet tranquil island of Gili air. Arriving is so picturesque!! There are no cars or motorbikes on the island so after getting off the boat, we got horse cart to Kai’s. it felt like we were going back in time, living the way islanders did a hundred years ago. Then we arrived at the house — super cute and totally funky. There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with its own outdoor bathroom. Taking a shower under palm trees is a fantastic experience! In back of the house, there is a circular dipping swim pool–great for kids or sipping on a cocktail. Behind the pool there its another little guest house with its own bathroom–equally cute and funky. We just loved the decor.

The staff was super helpful, cooking and otherwise looking after us. They house was clean and well taken care of. The staff helped us set up a really nice sunset dinner on the beach (amazing view!!) and cooked tasty Indonesian fare. There was a little beach bar 50 feet away so we could always swim or walk over if we needed anything, otherwise the staff would get it for us.

We rented bicycles which made it easy to get around the island and check out the restaurants and shopping on the other side of the island. (There is an adorable new little store — wish I could remember the name). Snorkeling is a must.

All in all, we completely adored this place. It exceeded our expectation in in every way and truly made for a dream vacation.
